'Like Crazy' Stars Felicity Jones and Anton Yelchin Discuss the Film (Video)
Actors Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones spoke to an audience of Back Stage readers following a screening of their film "Like Crazy" on Nov. 1. The film, which won the Grand Jury Prize for director Drake Doremus at this year's Sundance Film Festival, focuses on a young couple whose blossoming relationship is complicated when the girl is banned from the U.S. for overstaying her visa. It was shot on a budget of only $250,000, and all the dialogue was improvised.Yelchin admitted that when he first saw a cut of the movie, he was impressed: "There were so many ways that his film could have been really saccharine and melodramatic, and I think Drake went against that every time that he could have gone for it. And I just really respected him for that and appreciated that." Jones said she found the experience of working without a script liberating: "One thing 'Like Crazy' taught me is that the script is one thing, but you have to let that goit becomes something entirely different when it's just the actors, and you can feel free to invent."Watch video of the event below: By Jenelle Riley November 30, 2011 PHOTO CREDIT Paramount Vantage Actors Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones spoke to an audience of Back Stage readers following a screening of their film "Like Crazy" on Nov. 1.
