Occur 1981, when Mitterand's election divided the nation, the pic recounts the amorous misadventures of the working-class provincial lad who falls hard for any Parisian love-monde belle after which needs to attempt to impress not just her but additionally her wealthy-kid buddies. Very Euro in the juxtaposition of affection with class and politics, this charmer having a sociopolitical edge should have the ability to bluff its distance to fests as well as an offshore arthouse or two. Primo (Niney, the youngest person in the Comedie francaise), needs to pretend he's a wealthy, red-colored-blooded right-winger to win one's heart of pretty although not-so-easily-pleased Gabrielle (Lou p Laage), despite the fact that another girl (Audrey Bastien) would happily take her place. Though not without cliches, scribe-helmer Louf's debut offers some unpredicted twists along with a neat sting within the tail. Lensing, a lot of it in dark inside or during the night, is atmospheric, as the period is evoked unobtrusively through tunes and news footage. Title, obtained from Patrick Coutin's 1981 hit, means "I Really Like Searching at Women."Camera (color), Samuel Collardey editor, Francoise Tourmen music, Bo Van der Werf, Jozef Dumoulin art director, Dorian Maloine costume designer, Chloe Lesueur. Examined at UGC Bercy, This summer 30, 2011. (In Toronto Film Festival -- Discovery.) Running time: 96 MIN. Contact Boyd van Hoeij at news@variety.com
